Position Summary
We are opening our next on-site clinics in retirement residences in Winnipeg, Manitoba and are seeking a compassionate, team-oriented In-House Physician to deliver primary and urgent care services one to four times a week. The home has approximately 200 residents, a mix of independent living and assisted living individuals. Residents are generally mobile, cognitively well, and engaged in their community, but many manage chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, chronic pain, COPD, or mild cognitive decline. You will roster interested retirement residents and retirement staff, deliver comprehensive medical care, and collaborate closely with an on-site Nurse Practitioner and Care Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
Primary & Urgent Care – Provide full-scope family practice and urgent assessments to rostered and non-rostered residents and staff.
Resident & Staff Rostering – Enroll eligible individuals and manage ongoing continuity of care.
Quality & Safety – Champion evidence-based geriatric care, medication reviews, chronic-disease management, and preventive health initiatives.
Virtual Care & Documentation – Use Perennial’s EMR or your own EMR and telehealth tools to chart, order investigations, and communicate with families.
Qualifications
Licensed for independent practice and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba (CPSM)
Minimum two years of experience in family medicine, geriatric care, or complex/chronic-care settings
Comfortable practicing autonomously with support from on-site and virtual nurse practitioners and nursing staff
Proficient with electronic medical records (EMRs) and virtual-care platforms
Demonstrates excellent communication, bedside manner, and collaborative leadership within interdisciplinary teams
Compensation & Schedule
Stipend for the In-House Physician role
Standard Manitoba Health (Fee-for-Service) billing applies for all insured services rendered
