The Department of Family Medicine at Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH) is currently recruiting Hospitalists for both the Met and Ouellette Campuses. As one of our Hospitalists, you will be the MRP for unattached medical and surgical inpatients. You will be part of a strong, collaborative Hospitalist team working within a dynamic multidisciplinary environment. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for individuals looking for unique challenges in a community hospital setting. Candidates will be encouraged to participate in hospital quality and flow initiatives.
The Hospitalist program consists of four admitting teams at each Campus (Met and Ouellette) following admission criteria to the Hospitalist service. There are on call responsibilities from the ER regarding patient admissions, from Medicine and Surgery regarding appropriate transfer of care requests, and for appropriate patient repatriations from outside organizations. Newborn well-baby examinations are completed by a subgroup at the WRH-Met campus, as well.
On call shifts run Friday at 0700 to Friday at 0700 with average census ranging between 15-20 patients per team.
