We are currently looking for permanent & Locum Family Practitioners to join our staff. A typical day would include a mix of family clinic or a mix of emergency room and hospitalist services in participation with on-call rotation. Nursing home and/or extended care support and medevacs are also part of the typical practice. The Hay River Regional Hospital is a new state-of-the-art 20-bed hospital with ambulatory and acute care, and long-term care, mental health, allied health services, laboratory, and diagnostic imaging. There is excellent support by visiting specialists from Yellowknife.
Hay River is only one hour north of the 60th parallel and is host to numerous festivals, events, and outdoor activities. We also have a newly built recreational centre to give you year-round access to the aquatic centre, indoor walking track, gym, curling rink, and ice rink.
To get you introduced to the town you can attend the dog sled races in January and the K'amba Carnival at the end of February. Come March we have the Polar Pond Hockey tournament on the Great Slave Lake, Wine Festival, Figure skating ice carnival, and Ptub cross country ski races.
