What We Do

We are an integrated health system providing the full continuum of care to the six communities of the western James Bay coast with over 500 employees, physicians, and partners in care. As a health authority, you will work in a unique setting where you can care for patients in all phases of their life journey, in all areas of their health experience. What You’ll Do
- Through and with the Chief of Staff, supervise the professional care provided by all members of the Medical Staff
- Along with the Chief of staff and physician services coordinator be responsible for physician scheduling ensuring that services are fully staffed with both full time, part time and locum physicians
- Participate in the orientation of new members of the Medical Staff appointed to the department
- Be responsible for the organization and implementation of a quality assurance program in the Department
- Co-chair the Emergency Department Committee
- Co-chair the Quality Assurance Committee
- Co-char the Long-term and Inpatient Committee
- Be a member of the Medical Advisory Committee where you will advise the committee, through and with the Chief of Staff, concerning the quality of medical care, and where appropriate diagnosis care and treatment provided to the patients of the department. You will also report to the committee and the Department on activities within the department, including utilization of resources and quality assurance
- Be responsible to the Chief of Staff, through and with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), for the appropriate utilization of the resources allocated to the department
- Hold Regular meetings with the staff of the Department and, where appropriate, with the Heads of Service within the Department; provide written reports every quarter to the Chief of Staff
