Primary Care Physicians

Carleton University Health & Counselling Services (HCS) provides integrated, student-centred physical and mental health care to Carleton University students and staff. Our interdisciplinary team includes primary care physicians, psychiatrists, counsellors, and dedicated clinical and administrative support staff.

HCS operates Monday to Friday with appointment-based and online booking. Clinicians benefit from on-site laboratory and pharmacy services, same-day counselling access, and a collaborative team environment. We offer flexible schedules (full- or half-day clinics), a fee-for-service model, competitive overhead, and full support from experienced RNs, RPNs, referral staff, EMR specialists, and billing personnel.

We are seeking Primary Care Physicians to join our growing team. Interest in minor procedures (e.g., IUD insertions, biopsies, office-based procedures) is welcomed, with nursing support available. Experience treating eating disorders is an asset.

Requirements

  • Current CPSO licensure and CMPA coverage
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to provide care in additional languages is an asset

GP-Psychotherapists / ADHD Specialists / Substance Use Health Physicians

Carleton HCS is seeking GP-Psychotherapists and physicians with expertise in ADHD assessment and management, particularly within a post-secondary population. Ideal candidates provide integrated psychotherapy and medication management. Experience with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, insomnia (CBT-I), and evidence-based therapies (CBT, CPT, DBT) is highly valued.

Substance Use Health:
We are also seeking a physician to provide substance use health consultations using a harm-reduction, trauma-informed, and motivational approach aligned with the University’s Substance Use Health Framework. Duties include assessment, brief follow-up, harm reduction support, community referrals, and evidence-based pharmacotherapy when appropriate.

Requirements

  • Current CPSO licensure and CMPA coverage
  • Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy (CBT, CPT, DBT, CBT-I), ADHD management, and student mental health
  • Experience with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and substance use health
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to provide care in additional languages is an asset
