Six Family Physician Positions (FFS)

The McConnell Family Health Centre is a primary care clinic located in Cornwall,
Ontario, committed to supporting the health and well-being of individuals and families
within the local community. The facility offers a full range of family medicine services,
including preventative care, chronic disease management, and minor procedures, as
well as walk-in and primary care services to support timely access to care. The clinic is
equipped with modern examination rooms and clinical support infrastructure designed to
facilitate efficient, high-quality patient care in a collaborative and professional
environment.

Position Summary

The clinic is currently expanding its operations in response to patient demand and
community need and is seeking six (6) full-time permanent Family Physicians to join
McConnell Family Health Centre and provide comprehensive family medicine services
to the community on both a walk-in basis and by appointment. All work will be
completed in the McConnell Medical Center, which serves as the base of our clinical
operations, located at 820 McConnell Avenue, Cornwall, Ontario, K6H 4M4.

The Family Physicians will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centred
care in accordance with the highest standards of the medical practice and in compliance
with the guidelines established by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
The physicians will support an established and growing patient population, including an
active roster of patients awaiting attachment to a family physician, and will be expected
to perform all duties associated with comprehensive family practice, including:

● Providing continuous, comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions, diseases, physiological disorders, and injuries.
● Conducting physical examinations, routine health assessments, preventive care, and chronic disease management.
● Ordering, interpreting, and following up on laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging.

● Prescribing and administering medications and treatments in accordance with best clinical practices.
● Providing preventive health education, immunizations, and lifestyle counselling to support patient wellness.
● Addressing minor emergencies and performing minor in-office procedures and surgeries where appropriate.
● Maintaining complete and accurate medical records in compliance with clinic policies and provincial regulatory standards.
● All duties will be performed in English.


Family Physicians will be expected to work full-time (a minimum of 32-hours per week).
Family Physicians will have flexibility in determining their working hours within the
clinic’s operational timeframe of 8:30am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday and will
participate in a coordinated rotation for walk-in clinic services to ensure comprehensive
coverage.


Compensation and Benefits
Compensation will be structured on a fee-for-service basis with an option for capitation
Family Health Organization membership, in accordance with billing under the Ontario
Health Insurance Plan (OHIP), and consistent with the Schedule of Benefits and policies
established by the Ontario Ministry of Health. Based on an anticipated patient volume of
approximately 20-25 patients per day with a minimum target roster of 1,000 patients, an
expected annual compensation under this model is CAD$400,000. A competitive rate
of overhead will be charged.

Qualifications and Requirements

The following are required:
● Medical Degree
● Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of
Ontario
● Prior to starting practice, required to obtain medicolegal insurance with the
Canadian Medical Protective Association, or with another carrier at your
expense.
● Letter of good standing from previous employer and/or training site of newly
graduated.

● Must provide Criminal record check, Child and Adult abuse check prior to starting
practice.
● At least a 3-year Return of Service Agreement is required.
