This is a full-time position, 35 to 40 hours per week.

Part-time, Casual or Locum opportunities are also available.

(Approximately $400,000 to $500,000 per year)

Education:

Doctor of Medicine

Completion of four to five years of the Pediatric Residency Program

Experience:

1 to 2 years

Licence:

Eligible or holder of the Licensure by Provincial or Territorial Authorities

Completion of four to five years of the Pediatric Residency Program

Eligible or holder of Certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada

Primary Duties of a Pediatrician:

Examine infants, children, and adolescents to assess growth, development, and overall health status

Diagnose and treat acute and chronic pediatric illnesses, infections, injuries, and developmental disorders

Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, and other medical investigations

Prescribe medications, therapies, immunizations, and other medical treatments

Provide preventive healthcare services, including routine check-ups, vaccinations, and health screenings

Monitor the physical, behavioural, and emotional development of pediatric patients

Provide counselling and guidance to parents and guardians regarding nutrition, safety, disease prevention, and child development

Manage and treat pediatric emergencies and urgent medical conditions

Refer patients to pediatric subspecialists or other healthcare professionals when required

Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in accordance with provincial regulations and professional standards
