Locum Information:
- Locums can be as short as 1 week - 1 year!
- A guaranteed rate for scheduled shifts. There is no fee-for-service/overhead/practice management.
- Travel stipend
- Accommodations and travel arranged by the health authority on your behalf.
- Additional incentives for recurring locums of $20,000 for completing 75 shifts in a fiscal year!
- PLUS: Locum in Inuvik between January 5-March 31 2026 and receive an increased travel stipend!

- The successful candidate will work at the Inuvik Regional Hospital, the northernmost hospital with an operating room on the continent. This 48-bed facility includes long-term care and a 14-bed acute care unit featuring two labor and delivery rooms. Physicians in Inuvik can also be part of a primary care team, providing services at seven or more community health centers through scheduled travel, phone, and Telehealth consultations.

- Stanton Territorial Hospital:
- At the Stanton Territorial Hospital holds our 25-bed Inpatient Medicine Unit, with most patients admitted to our FP-Hospitalist service or directly to the Medicine service. We also have a 4 bed ICU that is a closed unit, covered by the Internal Medicine Service. Other local resources include RTs, Anesthesiologists, general and some specialty surgical services, and a CT scanner (no MRI).
Stanton Territorial Hospital is a beautiful place to work and visit, with a fantastic collegial atmosphere and a modern OR. Our full-time team consists of ESS Physicians, FP-Anesthetists, and General Practitioners, along with Obstetrics and Gynecology, Orthopedic Surgery, General Surgery, ENT, Radiology, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology and Psychiatry.Locum Information & Benefits - Primary Care in Yellowknife, NT

- The Health Centre in Fort Simpson serves as the the administrative headquarters for the region and has two acute care rooms and five clinic rooms
- Fort Smith, NT
- The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority-Fort Smith Region operates a modern health centre with acute care beds, offices and clinic examination rooms, and also supports a midwifery program. Acute cases are stabilized at the health centre and medivaced to Stanton Territorial Hospital in Yellowknife or directly to Edmonton depending on the emergency.
- Hay River, NT
- The Hay River Health and Social Services Authority provides the South Slave area of the Northwest Territories with quality healthcare. Our catchment area includes the community of Hay River, which has a population of approximately 3,800 + residents. In addition to Hay River, the area also includes six outlying communities with a catchment area in excess of 6,000 + people.
- The HRHSSA is an accredited, integrated health authority that provides the following services: 19 acute inpatient beds (14 Community Support Beds, 1 Family Suite (Palliative), 2 Secure Rooms, 2 Observation beds), Emergency and Ambulatory Care, including dialysis and endoscopy; Midwifery Care and Delivery; 25 Long Term Care beds; Supportive Living Campus, a Territorial campus providing 11 permanent residences; and Diagnostic Services (Diagnostic Imaging, Ultrasound, Mammography); Laboratory.
