Model Skin MD is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Family Physician with additional training and experience in medical dermatology to establish and grow a medical dermatology service within our modern Vancouver clinic.
This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who would like to practise medical dermatology in a professionally managed, supportive clinical environment without the administrative responsibilities of operating an independent clinic.
The position will begin at approximately one consistent clinic day per week, with the opportunity to add additional days as referral volume and the service grow.
The Opportunity
The successful physician will assess and manage patients referred for common medical dermatology concerns and perform appropriate office-based procedures within their training, experience and scope of practice.
Potential clinical responsibilities include:
- Assessment and management of common inflammatory, infectious and pigmentary skin conditions
- Evaluation of concerning or changing skin lesions
- Skin cancer screening and assessment
- Acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis and other common dermatologic conditions
- Punch, shave and incisional biopsies
- Simple excisions and other minor office-based surgical procedures, where appropriate
- Interpretation and communication of pathology results
- Development of treatment plans and coordination of follow-up care
- Referral to dermatology, plastic surgery, Mohs surgery or other specialists when clinically indicated
- Clear and timely documentation and communication with referring providers
The practice will initially focus on medical dermatology and minor surgical procedures. Participation in cosmetic or procedural services may be available in the future based on the physician’s interests, qualifications and scope, but is not required.

Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Hold an unrestricted licence, or be eligible for licensure, with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia
- A recognized postgraduate diploma or certificate in practical dermatology
- Be in good standing with all applicable regulatory bodies
- Maintain appropriate professional liability protection
- Be eligible to practise and bill in British Columbia, where applicable
- Have current experience assessing and managing medical dermatology presentations
- Be competent in any procedures they intend to perform independently
- Demonstrate sound clinical judgment, appropriate referral practices and a commitment to evidence-informed care
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and referring providers
- Maintain complete, accurate and timely clinical documentation
The following would be considered assets:
- Dermoscopy training and demonstrated experience
- Experience performing skin biopsies, simple excisions and minor surgical procedures
- Experience managing pathology results and suspected skin malignancies
- An established community referral network
- Interest in helping develop clinical protocols and referral pathways

Schedule
- Approximately one consistent weekday per week to begin
- Clinic hours are generally 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Specific weekday and start date are negotiable
- Opportunity to increase clinic days based on patient demand and mutual interest
- No hospital coverage, overnight call or weekend call is anticipated
Compensation
A competitive compensation structure will be developed based on the physician’s qualifications, experience, anticipated patient volume and preferred practice arrangement.
Potential structures will include fee-for-service with an agreed clinic overhead arrangement. Details will be discussed transparently with shortlisted candidates.
