St Mary Rideau Family Clinic is seeking two Family Physicians to join our established and growing primary care practice in the heart of downtown Ottawa. There may be an opportunity to add a third physician in the future based on clinic needs.

We are a physician-owned and physician-led clinic, with the physician owner actively practising on-site. Our aim is to provide physicians with the infrastructure and administrative support of an established clinic while preserving the flexibility and professional independence to build a practice that works for them.

Following the relocation of another medical clinic from our premises, we have an immediate opportunity to expand our physician team.

International Family Physicians Welcome

We welcome applications from internationally trained family physicians who are eligible to practise in Ontario.

Candidates who require employer support for an eligible C10 LMIA-exempt work permit pathway are welcome to apply, and clinic support may be available for suitable candidates, subject to applicable CPSO, immigration and government requirements and approvals.

Physicians currently outside Canada who are pursuing or have obtained eligibility for Ontario registration are encouraged to contact us.

Prime Downtown Ottawa Location

The clinic is located at 158 Rideau Street, in the heart of downtown Ottawa and within close proximity to:

• University of Ottawa
• Rideau Centre
• ByWard Market
• Downtown offices and businesses
• Major residential developments
• Public transit connections

Our location provides access to a broad and diverse patient population, including families, university students, professionals, downtown residents, newcomers and immigrant communities.

There is strong demand for primary care in the area, alongside opportunities for physicians interested in providing appropriate uninsured and third-party medical services.

Established Practice – Build Your Patient Panel

This is not a clinic starting from scratch.

You will be joining existing family physicians in a fully operational practice with established administrative systems, clinical infrastructure and patient demand.

Physicians can develop a practice according to their interests, including:

• Longitudinal family medicine
• Patient enrolment
• Episodic and walk-in care
• Preventive and chronic disease management
• Appropriate uninsured and third-party medical services

Physicians looking to establish a new patient panel are welcome, as are established physicians seeking a different practice environment.

Genuine Scheduling Flexibility

We recognize that physicians do not all want to practise the same hours.

Schedules can be structured around individual preferences and may include:

• Early morning starts with a midday finish
• Midday starts with evening practice
• Traditional full clinical days
• Weekend clinics
• A combination of weekday and weekend sessions

The clinic can accommodate clinical schedules Monday through Sunday, depending on physician preference, patient demand and clinic requirements.

Full-time and flexible arrangements will be considered.

Clinic Infrastructure & Support

Physicians will have access to:

• Fully equipped consultation/examination rooms
• Experienced administrative support
• OSCAR Pro EMR
• Established appointment and booking infrastructure
• Existing family physicians practising on-site
• Physician owner actively practising on-site
• Support for establishing and managing a patient panel
• Opportunities for episodic/walk-in care where desired

We are also in discussions regarding on-site laboratory/blood collection services, providing additional convenience for both physicians and patients.

Potential FHG Opportunity

Physicians interested in practising within a Patient Enrolment Model may have an opportunity to work with our existing physicians toward the formation of a Family Health Group (FHG), subject to physician eligibility, interest and Ministry of Health approval.

Incoming physicians therefore have an opportunity not only to join an established clinic but also to participate in its continued development.

Compensation & Overhead

Physician retains 78% of billings.

Clinic overhead: 22% of billings + applicable HST.

The clinic provides clinical space, equipment, administrative support and the infrastructure required for day-to-day practice operations.

Physicians practise as independent contractors and remain responsible for their individual professional obligations, including licensing and appropriate CMPA protection.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

• Hold, or be eligible to obtain, appropriate registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
• Be eligible to obtain an Ontario billing number and bill OHIP
• Maintain appropriate CMPA protection before commencing clinical practice
• Be committed to high-quality, patient-centred primary care

CCFP certification or eligibility is preferred.

Internationally trained physicians who meet or are progressing toward Ontario licensing requirements are encouraged to apply.

We are currently recruiting two Family Physicians, with the possibility of adding a third physician based on future clinic needs.
