Job Description

Family Physician posiiton in a family practice with one location situated in cochrane and three locations in calgary. Candiate must have eligibility for licensure with the college of physicians and surgeons of Alberta. Candidate will work in clinic only and must be willing to do weekend cover as per rota. Proscpective candidate should be able to cover various clinics on different days . 

Note this position is eligible for both candidates requiring sponsorship and Candidates not needing Sponsorship.

Examine patients and take their histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures
Consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health
Prescribe and administer medications and treatments
Advise patients on health care
Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases to government authorities
Communicate health promotion, disease, illnes and accident prevention to patients
Perform patient advocacy role
Co-ordinate or manage primary patient care
Provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues
