fully affiliated teaching hospital for the University of Toronto, and Canada’s largest academic health sciences center devoted to mental
health. The Division of Medicine in Psychiatry is recruiting three
full-time Academic Hospitalists to join their team at CAMH.
consultant role involves providing primary care to an assigned acute and a chronic/rehab
unit with the additional option for shifts in the emergency department. There
will also be an expectation to work occasional weekend day shifts during the
positions are available starting Jan 1st, 2022 (negotiable start
hours: M-F (8:30 am - 4:30 pm). Weekends (9 am-5 pm).

Duties and Responsibilities
Patient care activities will include, but are
not be limited to:
evaluation, diagnostic determination, ongoing treatment and clinical management
of acute and chronic medical issues, determination for subspecialist referral
for consultation, care planning and modification, medications/therapeutic
orders in close collaboration with attending MRP Psychiatrist and allied health
patient contact and care management that actively encourages inter-professional
care amongst patient care teams.
completion of all clinical documentation to ensure compliance with hospital
policies, College of Physician and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) standards, and
OHIP billing requirements.
and supervision of medical trainees in an academic setting.
in the academic mission of the Division of Medicine in Psychiatry at CAMH.
of other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Required Qualifications at this Level
Additional training in Hospital Medicine is desirable
Clinical, teaching, quality improvement and/or research
in the community or academic teaching hospitals is desirable
Physician will have an active license in good standing
with the CPSO
and CMPA in accordance with the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Centre
for Addiction and Mental Health
Clinical training and skills as mandated by the CCFP
Ability to work with others in a cooperative, inter-professional
Strong written and oral communication skills
For clinician educators and clinician researchers, strong
and research skills, respectively
