Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care Is Searching for Hospitalists To Join Our Team!

Located on beautiful Georgian Bay, Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is a 301-bed psychiatric hospital providing specialized inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care for the North Simcoe Muskoka region, and providing forensic psychiatric care for patients requiring a high secure facility.

Less than two hours from Toronto and approximately 45 minutes from Barrie, this area provides ample outdoor recreational opportunities year round including cycling, curling, fishing, boating, hiking, and snowmobiling. Clinical Setting and Duties:

Our team of Hospitalist work in a rich interprofessional care environment. We offer assessment, evidence-based treatment and recovery-oriented rehabilitation across abroad range of needs including acute mental health care, psychosocial rehabilitation and outreach, geriatric mental health, concurrent disorders, and care for adults with dual diagnosis. Our current need is for Hospitalists to work in various inpatient settings together with nurse practitioners, physician assistants and allied health staff to deliver exemplary physical health care, with the ability to also be involved in the mental health care of these patients according to experience and interest. We are also keen to develop physician leadership opportunities across the organization.

We offer physicians career development opportunities in teaching and research, quality improvement and leadership/administration. Waypoint has academic affiliations with five Ontario medical institutions and candidates will be encouraged to apply for a university appointment if they do not already have one.

Remuneration and Benefits

Remuneration is salaried and very competitive, with additional benefits including vacation, sick leave, education leave, professional development funds, relocation allowance, and a fantastic pension plan. Independent contractor arrangements are also offered.
