GRAND RIVER REGIONAL CANCER CENTRE

The Grand River Regional Cancer Centre (GRRCC), located in Kitchener, Ontario, is an integrated cancer program of Grand River Hospital, offering patients a full service and comprehensive cancer treatment and research centre. We are proud to serve more than 700,000 residents of Waterloo Region, Wellington County and surrounding areas. The GRRCC  areas of specialized care include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, clinical trials, inpatient oncology, supportive and palliative care. 

We are the largest provider of systemic treatment and cancer surgery, as well as the sole provider of radiation treatment in the region.  

The Grand River Regional Cancer Centre (GRRCC) is currently recruiting for a LOCUM; full time Inpatient General Practitioner in Oncology effective June 26, 2023 for a 12 month period.


The successful applicant would join two other GPO team members in the program to provide assistance to the Oncology Program in providing care to the Inpatient Oncology Program at the Grand River Hospital.

 

 

Job Requirements
Duties of the position would include:
- Admission and discharge of Oncology Inpatients
- Day to day inpatient management of Oncology Patients admitted to the inpatient unit
- Interacting with various subspecialties in providing care to Oncology Patients in the inpatient and outpatient programs
- Providing care to the Acute Leukemia Inpatient population and participating in the expanding and developing Day One Autologous Stem Cell Program
- Participate in assessing patients in the Emergency Care Oncology Clinic and Emergency Room

The successful candidate is expected to be eligible for a full Family Physician Medical licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and hold membership in the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Candidates with an FRCPC in Internal Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada who are eligible for full licensure with The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario would also be eligible for this position.

Previous experience in oncology care is encouraged but not mandatory. Competitive Remuneration for the position is provided.
