Primary Health Care - Collaborative Team Clinic (CTC)

Eastern Health invites expressions of interest for nine, permanent, full-time salaried Family Physicians at the Collaborative Team Clinics (CTC) located in St. John’s, NL. The CTC is a joint governance initiative between Eastern Health and the Endeavor Family Practice Network.

Eastern Health is the largest integrated health organization in Newfoundland and Labrador. It employs over 13,000 employees and provide services to a regional population of more than 300,000. Eastern Health has unique provincial responsibilities for tertiary level institutional services.

In keeping with the organizations’ vision of “Healthy People – Healthy Communities”, Eastern Health is pleased to support its Primary Health Care Clinic in achieving its goals of providing exceptional and high-quality care to patients in the St. John’s-Metro region. The PHC Collaborative Team Clinic (CTC) mandate is to provide patients without a primary care provider of the St. John’s/Metro region with access to primary health care services. Services will be provided using an inter-professional collaborative approach where patients will see the right provider at the right time and right place. The collaborative team includes physicians, NPs, RNs including diabetic nurse educator, clerical supports, LPNs, pharmacists, social workers, dietitian, physiotherapist and occupational therapist. All health care providers, including physicians, will be expected to practice to their full scope of practice to meet patient needs and requirements. The CTC aims to provide continuity of care to improve health outcomes and patients quality of life.

We are seeking physician leaders to manage a roster of patients. Our ideal candidates will have a strong patient focus and excellent communication skills with a keen interest in practicing in a collaborative team approach. Hours of work may need flexibility to offer clinics during the daytime, after-hours and on weekends to meet patient needs. The successful Physicians will provide care using the EMR platform.

All applicants must be licensed (full or provisional) to practice by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador and must be granted privileges by Eastern Health.

Salary and benefits for this position are to be paid in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador. Starting salary will be based on years of clinical experience. Health and dental benefits are available in addition to four weeks of vacation plus other various leaves including family and study leave.
