Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) is a 300+bed acute care facility boasting stable, state-of-the-art Programs within a team environment and with a dedicated staff that ensures high-level, patient-focused care. The organization comprises of two main hospital sites, the Brantford General Hospital and Willet Hospital. Located in the picturesque Grand River Valley 20 minutes west of Hamilton, our community offers outstanding recreational opportunities.  

BCHS is the area’s acute care facility, providing all of Brantford and Brant County's specialty programs and services for our 120,000+ residents and boasts stable, state-of-the-art programs within a team environment that ensures high level patient-focused care. We are a regional centre for a variety of services including surgical services, rehabilitation, internal medicine subspecialties and palliative care.

The Department of Stroke, Rehabilitation, Complex and Palliative Care, at the Brant Community Healthcare System is currently looking for family physicians to support post-acute hospitalist work. These individuals would be joining the team providing care at both the Brantford General Hospital site and the Willet Hospital in Paris. The Post-Acute Hospitalist role accountabilities include MRP care for post-acute patients admitted to the Willet, and Brantford General’s Rehab and Complex Care units as well as patients on our Integrated Stroke Unit (ISU). These patients are longer term, lower acuity patients currently being cared for in a hospital setting. BCHS has have comprehensive and collegial specialist support, including 24/7 access to internal medicine, ICU, and surgical services. Remuneration for this role includes a daily stipend in addition to fee-for-service billings.

The ideal candidate will have independent practice license from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and certification with the College of Family Physicians or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. Hospitalist experience is considered an asset. Physicians with additional training in Stroke Care are encouraged to apply. They will be practicing as a part of a group of friendly and supportive group of physicians who provide holistic, patient-centered and team-based care to inpatients admitted with a variety of medical concerns. We are looking for individuals with exceptional interpersonal and collaborative skills, and a dedication to service excellence. They should also be a strong team player to work effectively with physicians, nursing, staff, patients, managers and the community with a commitment to medical education.
