Job Description

Family Physician

0.7 (25 hours per week)

Flexible / part-time options are available

The Opportunity

South-East Ottawa Community Health Centre (SEOCHC) is a non-profit, community-governed organization that provides a wide range of multidisciplinary services, including primary care, health promotion, social services, community development, home support, and advocacy to address the social determinants of health. We focus on improving the health and well-being of people in South-East Ottawa, especially those who face barriers to accessing care. At the heart of our service delivery model are our shared commitment to equity and social justice, whole person health, community collaboration, heart-driven integrity and evidence-informed excellence

Our talented and passionate team at SEOCHC makes a real and tangible impact on the lives of the residents in our community. We collaborate to deliver best-in-class care and are excited to expand our Primary Care team.

We are currently inviting applications for a 0.7 full-time equivalent Family Physician (25 hours/week). We are committed to flexibility and welcome proposals for alternative work arrangements. For example, this role may be structured as a job share between two physicians or divided into part-time schedules (e.g., 3 and 2 days per week), based on candidate preference and organizational needs. Please indicate your preferred schedule in your application.

What We Offer:

  • The opportunity to practice medicine without the administrative burden of running a business.
  • A collaborative, supportive, and interdisciplinary environment with physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, allied health professionals, and administrative staff.
  • A diverse and engaged patient population reflecting the richness of our community.
  • We provide excellent nursing and admin support, an electronic health record (PS Suites), and the opportunity to teach medical students and residents.
  • Both face-to-face and virtual visits, including some evening and weekend clinics.
  • Competitive salary $285,157 - $331,986 annually, pro-rated to FTE (includes an on-call stipend).
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including HOOPP (pension plan), generous paid leaves, and professional development opportunities.
  • The chance to make a meaningful impact in a Community Health Centre (CHC) model that applies a health equity, anti-racism, and anti-oppression lens.

What You Bring:

  • Licensed to practice as a Family Physician by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
  • Experience in primary care, with a strong understanding of community health and the social determinants of health.
  • Commitment to working with diverse and multicultural populations, including newcomers, uninsured individuals, and those with complex health needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English; proficiency in French and/or other languages representing our community (e.g., Arabic, Somali) is a strong asset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse interprofessional team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, including participation in on-call rotations.
  • Successful completion of a Police Record Check and proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
